How would our patients describe us? We have heard “compassionate,” “caring,” “determined to do good work,” “detailed,” “laidback and friendly but professional,” and we love it!
Unlike a clinic that might have a rotating staff, our team is dedicated to building long-term relationships with our patients based on trust, understanding, and true friendship. Every individual is important to us on their own terms and that helps people feel comfortable staying with us for the long run. In fact, we are now seeing second and third generation patients!
Because of these relationships, our team is also dedicated to excellence – growing and learning in every way they can so every patient receives the care he or she deserves.
Meet the Doctor
Dr. Jack Weiss has always loved building things. It started when he was just a kid and continued when he decided he wanted to build beautiful smiles and improve people’s health in the dental field. When he is not crafting life-changing smiles, he works to restore vintage cars, currently a 1960 MGA. In every way, Dr. Jack is a builder of refinement and strength.
A 1982 graduate of the University of Alabama School of Dentistry, Dr. Jack never stops learning and growing. He has certifications in Invisalign, IMTEC mini implants, NTI splint therapy for bruxism and migraines, and sleep apnea therapy.
Dr. Jack volunteers his time at Jones Valley Farm, an educational farm for inner-city and Birmingham schools. He is also very involved in sports and has coached youth soccer for over 15 years.
When he is not building beautiful smiles, restoring cars, or helping young people, he loves spending family time with his wife Laurie, his children, and his grandchildren.
Meet the Team
Cheron Orth, Dental Assistant
Cheron started her dental career back in 1995. She recently re-joined Dr. Weiss back in March of 2018 after deciding to leave her position in Atlanta, as a Dental Assistant, that she had for the past 13 years. Cheron and Dr. Weiss worked together over 22 years ago in Dr. Weiss' Southside Office. She was very excited to come back to work with Dr. Weiss after all of these years. "It feels just like nothing has changed and I am so glad to be back home where I belong."
Whitney, Registered Dental Hygienist
Healthy teeth and gums go hand and hand with Whitney’s daily duties at Weiss Dental. She’s been in the business for five years and counting, after graduating from the University of Alabama at Birmingham — so she’s knows a thing or two about the powers of quality dental care. Whitney is the go-to team member for dental and periodontal hygiene, patient education, inventory management, and so much more. She is most happy to be helping our patients learn about the most effective, efficient care methods for their teeth to ensure a smile that lasts a lifetime. Whitney says she’s proud to be a part of the relaxed atmosphere we create to make each patient feel right at home. When she’s not busy helping patients with hygiene, Whitney is devoted to her role as a wife, church youth leader/staff member, and family member.
