We’re Here to Help You Keep Your Smile for Years to Come

Comprehensive Exams

During your first visit to our office, you will receive a comprehensive examination that will include x-rays, gum disease and oral cancer screenings, as well as a personalized cleaning. Dr. Jack will evaluate your smile and go over all of the available options for care. In fact, you will become part of your own healthcare team as we review your findings, present the options, and determine the best set of treatments for your dental health.

Oral Cancer Screenings

Did you know that everyone is at some risk for mouth cancers? Even if you’ve avoided high-risk behaviors like smoking and drinking, there is still a chance that you may develop oral cancer. During your checkup, we will perform both visual and manual examinations to search for any signs of abnormality. As with any medical condition, early detection is the best way to minimize the health risks associated with oral cancer.

X-Rays & Diagnostic Tools

Dental X-Ray

In order to properly care for your oral health, we need to know what’s going on in your mouth, even in the places our eyes can’t see. We use a variety of x-rays to ensure that we have a thorough understanding of all parts of your mouth. We offer several options including digital and panoramic x-rays. Digital x-rays use much less radiation than the traditional method, and panoramic x-rays let us take a look at the entire mouth and locate issues in the jaw before they become a problem.

We also use intraoral imaging to take pictures of the inside of your mouth for improved diagnosis. These images help us see at angles that a traditional examination would not allow and help you understand your treatment recommendations better than ever.

There are some cavities that are hard to locate with the naked eye. To catch these small cavities early, we use a technology called DIAGNOdent. This device uses lasers to detect cavities too small for standard methods of detection.

Hygiene

We employ the deep cleaning Piezo ultrasonic scaler at every hygiene appointment. The Piezo is an ultrasonic device that uses high-speed sound waves to remove plaque, tartar, and bacteria. You’ll be impressed by how clean your teeth can be.

Periodontal Therapy

It’s easy to assume that your gums are perfectly healthy when there are no symptoms of ill health. However, gum disease (periodontitis) can be present long before the symptoms are noticeable. Many adults suffer from some form of gum disease and this disease can have negative health effects far beyond the toll it takes on your smile.

We use techniques called scaling and root planing to manually remove tartar buildup on the roots of your teeth. This cleaning, combined with an in-office antibiotic treatment, will stop the process of gum disease and allow your gums to heal.

Fluoride Treatments

There’s fluoride in your water supply. There’s fluoride in your toothpaste. Would you actually believe it’s possible that you’re still not getting enough fluoride? This mineral strengthens the enamel of the teeth and makes it harder for cavities to form. We offer fluoride treatments to children at every visit and to adults when needed to give your teeth an extra edge in the fight against tooth decay and even help stop sensitivity.

Mouthguards

If you’ve ever used a sports mouthguard, we don’t have to tell you how uncomfortable they can be. They never quite fit perfectly and this can even lead to pain. At Weiss Dental, we will custom form a mouthguard specifically for your mouth. This will not just be more comfortable, it will be more effective! Keep your teeth intact and reduce the risk of injuries like concussion with a custom sports mouthguard.

Dental Mouthguard

Are you sick of waking up tired and sore after a long night of grinding and clenching your teeth? We can custom fit a mouthguard to prevent the damage caused by nighttime grinding. This can also help prevent pain in the jaw and elsewhere by cushioning the teeth.

Sedation Dentistry

For those procedures that require anesthesia, such as extractions and root canals, we offer nitrous oxide to keep you pain free. This is particularly helpful for those patients who are less than fond of needles.

Sleep Apnea Treatment

Man being treated for sleeping disorder.

Sleep apnea is a sleeping disorder that affects millions of people, many of whom don’t even know they have it. This disorder is caused when there is an obstruction of the airway. Because of that obstruction, sufferers will stop breathing for several seconds to minutes during sleep, often hundreds of times a night. CPAP (continuous positive airway pressure) devices are often used as a solution to this problem, however, they can be bulky and uncomfortable. We offer the TAP and Somnodent devices as an alternative. These high-tech mouthguards are designed to keep your airways open without the need for a full face mask. As an added bonus, these mouthguards protect against the effects of teeth grinding as well!

Emergency Care

We understand how crucial it is to receive timely care when there is a dental emergency. In most emergency situations, we are able to get you in to see Dr. Jack the same day. We’ll do whatever is necessary to solve your dental emergency.
